If you find yourself on the hunt for the best waves and need some gear to go along, check out Mooloolaba Esplanade. Here you can also find cute boutiques and plenty of novels for you book nerds out there. For the largest shopping centre with an array of stores to blow your cash in head to Sunshine Plaza Maroochydore. With over 210 specialty shops it will be hard to not find something here.

If you’re around on Wednesday or Saturday don’t miss the unique Eumundi market. For amazing market food, fresh produce, handicrafts galore, and other hidden trinkets and nick-nacks, this market will be sure to provide you with something nice to bring home.

Wine and dine

After your day of shopping it will be likely that you have worked up an appetite.. So for an epic variety of amazing food, you have come to the right place. For scrumptious riverside dining, make your way to Gympie Terrace. If you’re on a budget but don’t want to be stuck in a pizza joint, just go Mooloolaba, Surf Lifesaving Clubs at Noosa or Coolum and enjoy delicious yet budget friendly dishes right on the beach front. For the true wine and cheese experience try the popular Kenilworth or Maleny. Should you want to take over in the kitchen and bring some skills back home with you, enroll in a fun and educational cooking class at Tamarind Cookery Retreat at Maleny or The Spirit House at Yandina.


While enjoying your time at the Sunshine Coast don’t forget the other fabulous activities that you can fill you day up with. You can kayak with the dolphins by joining the Dolphin Kayak Adventure. Take a tour to the famous Fraser island, which is the largest sand island in the world. Have kids? Take them to the Australia Zoo where they can see wildlife including whales!

Spending time on the Sunshine Coast will be fun, exciting and enjoyable for all. Don’t ruin your time here by getting a burn. Make sure to properly apply and reapply your sunscreen because the Aussie sun isn’t easy on anyone! A hat and possibly a light long sleeve shirt could help as well. At night most places are quite casual with their dress, however bring something warm to pull over when the temperatures drop. Use the following as a weather guide:
